Jessica Lynn Seaton earned a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Plymouth State University in 2006. Her concentration was in ceramics with a background in art education. Upon graduating, she entered an apprenticeship with a local potter, Kit Cornell in Exeter, NH. She was awarded an Artists Opportunity Grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. Through her apprenticeship she developed skills in running a studio and teaching classes. After her apprenticeship she began teaching at Exeter Center for the Creative Arts.
Jessica also works for the non-profit art organization, North Country Studio Workshops in which she has been the associate director and the administrative assistant. She is a studio potter; who sells her wares at local farmers markets. She is influenced by the idea that the forms she makes are not only seen for their beauty, but their function. She believes handmade objects can enhance your daily life.
Jessica has exhibited at McGowan Fine Arts, Kimball Jenkins Estate, Sharon Art Center, and a number of exhibitions at Exeter Arts Committee Gallery. She is a member of the New Hampshire Potters Guild and a board member for North Country Studio Workshops.
Jessica has a passion for teaching, she has taught at Phillips Exeter Academy, Exeter Center for Creative Arts, and Y-Arts at YMCA in Exeter . While her concentration is in ceramics, she loves making all kinds of art. She is delighted to share her knowledge in drawing, painting, printmaking, and clay.
